1st Annual Fun/Run/Walk

On September 2014, BSCA hosted its first annual Fun/Run/Walk.  Supporters walked and ran from Goodman's Bay to Arawak Cay and back.  A registration fee of $20 was charged and the event saw approximately 100 participants.

1st T-Shirt Day

BSCA hosted its first t-shirt day on “World Sickle Cell Day” June 19th, 2015. The association solicited donations from individuals and organizations throughout the Bahamas in support of sickle cell awareness through the sale of t-shirts for $10.00 and wrist band for $5.00. BSCA raised $3,410.18 from this event.

1st Annual Mini Fair and Raffle

hosted its first (1st) Annual Mini Fair & Raffle on the Eastern Parade grounds. The BSCA in conjunction with sponsors offered free blood pressure and glucose testing, received blood donations, distributed pamphlets on SCD awareness, drew a raffle and raised funds through the sale of food and games. This event yield proceeds of $5,417.17

2nd Annual Fun/Run/Walk

Hosted its second (2nd) annual Fun/Run Walkathon with two routes: a) the walkers – from Goodman’s Bay to the Melia Resort Hotel and back and b) the runners – from Goodman’s Bay to Sandyport Beach and back. Registration was $20 and the walk generated over 250 supporters. The Association raised $2,600.50 from this event.
