In conjunction with the Bahamas Pharmaceutical Association (BPA), the BSCA hosted its first (1st) quarterly public forum at the J. Whitney Pinder building entitled, “The Management and Treatment of Sickle Cell Disease in Children & Young Adults”. The forum was a free presentation and panel discussion open to the general public with guest speaker, Dr. Corrine Sinquee-Brown MD, MBBS, FACC, Pediatric Hematologist and Oncologist (Bahamas Heart Center). Additional panelists were Mrs. Nadine Sawyer of the BSCA (Perspective of a Parent of a child with SCD), Ms. Yale Rutherford of the BSCA (Perspective of an Adolescent with SCD) and Ms. Dana McKenzie of the BSCA & BPA (Perspective of a Pharmacist).
